COMMUNITY

Teachers are a wonderful resource in a country. The South African education system is at this time experiencing a stressful time with the current changes being made to the curriculum. However the only constant is change and I have no doubt that the majority of our dedicated teachers are doing an outstanding job in the classroom. Many are working additional hours to ensure that the learners are the beneficiaries of a first class educational experience.

If teachers could manage the change in a collaborative way and share their own skills with each other, confirming that what they do in the classroom is in fact leading to learning, what a wonderful progressive community we would have.

This is an appeal to teachers... if every teacher uploaded one worksheet or one resource of their own on our EDU-COMMUNITY for the benefit of other teachers and simply decided that they were able to contribute with this one piece of information, we would have 452 971, (this is the number of teachers and lecturers counted in 2007) according to the DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, resources for teachers to download and use to improve the practise in their own schools. 

If teachers could share and work together, we could improve this education system one teacher at a time. This is not mentioning the contribution parents and service providers could make!

Every person who joins our community can upload information on their profile page. This page will tell others about you and will encourage teachers, parents with the same interests as you to share valuable ideas.

You also have the opportunity to upload photos to showcase some of the work that you do.

With all the experience teachers have, it is time for teachers to take ownership of the challenges faced in the classroom. Use this site to talk to each other about solutions. Parents get involved, talk to each other about raising children in the 21st century!

 If you need any help or information in any educational learning area, this is the place to ask! All our expert teachers can look at your question and answer it, you can start a whole discussion in our forum.

EVENTS

There are many service providers doing magnificent work to inspire and assist teachers and parents in the education of their children.  Communication is key to the success of conferences and workshops. Teachers, parents and stakeholders can share the dates, times and venues of conferences, workshops, talks and camps on this site. Become involved in developing the network and improve the chances of learning significantly.
