OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING

The following needs to be achieved throughout and by the end of the two day training course:

• Teachers are expected to assess learner achievement
• Teachers should be able to monitor learning progress
• Teachers should be able to demonstrate an understanding of how to record and report on learner achievement and progress
• Teachers should have knowledge and practical ability to develop an assessment plan
• Teachers should form links with each other to provide support and a network to work collaboratively to assess learners effectively.

• Legislative framework for assessment
• Giving assessment feedback to stakeholders
• Using and applying various assessment methods
• Assessing learners with multiple intelligences
• Proper assessment record keeping
• Assessment vs. lesson planning
• Developing an assessment plan( from individual to phase and school planning)
