OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING

The following needs to be achieved throughout and by the end of the training course:

1. The role and vision of the Foundation Phase HOD will be defined and an understanding of this will be demonstrated.
2. The managers will develop a Foundation Phase Policy.
3. The managers will be given strategies to know and develop the teachers and their potential
4. Managers will do teamwork activities and know how to deal with conflict.
5. To deal effectively with the IQMS process.
6. The HOD’S will be guided to run effective meetings.
7. The HOD’s will be trained to write useful and developmental work reports.
8. They will be assisted to recognize their role in reporting back to the Management team.

• Defining the role and vision of the Foundation Phase HOD
• The Foundation Phase Policy
• Knowing your teachers personalities and developing potential
• Teamwork and dealing with conflict
• In-service training – IQMS
• Running effective meetings
• Writing useful and developmental work reports
• Reporting back to the Management team
